Do I have to be fast runner?

Not at all!

Whilst we will be providing prizes for our more competitive runners looking to hit a PB or zoom around the course, we know the majority are here for a good time, to meet new people, try something new and achieve a personal goal.

The only prerequisite is that you complete the 5km and 10km within 2hrs the kids mile must be completed within 25mins.

What does my ticket entry get me?

Accepted Answer

Entry into one Race.

Before the race, each runner will pick up a bib number which contains your running chip.  Times will be uploaded to the website within seconds (!) of you passing the finish line.

During the race, there will marshalls on hand to offer encouragement and point you in the right direction.

Each runner will receive a medal, piece of fruit and some water after completing the race/course.

Our race photographer will take photos of the races and will be available to download for free post event.

What are the age restrictions?

The Junior Dash is aimed at children/athletes between the ages of 4-15.

Each child will be entered into an age and gender category: 4-9 years and 10-14 years. There will be prizes for the top 3 in each category.

The 5km and 10km Dash is open to anyone over the age of 15 (15 year olds have the choice of which race to enter). We will have prizes for top 3 male and female runners as well as category prizes for over 50s.

What is a fun Run?

A fun run is a non-competitive, community-oriented running event sometimes held to raise money for charity. Fun runs prioritise enjoyment and participation over speed and competition. Whilst we do have prizes fro our winners and category winners. Every Athlete will receive a medal upon completion to reward the effort put in.

Am I able to run with my child?

Absolutely! If you want to run round with your child, please do. We understand that this can be intimidating for our first timers or younger atheletes.

If you are running with a child, you do NOT need to a purchase a ticket, you can run for free. Only the children participating need tickets. Parents will not receive a medal, but can help themselves to water and snacks.

What should I wear?

Trainers and comfortable clothes for running, we will be providing safety clips to clip your bibs onto the front of your shirt - please be aware you cannot run without a bib on the front of your shirt.

Question 7

Where do I collect my Bib?

You can collect your bib on the day of the race. Our team will be there an hour before the first race and registration close 10mins before your race. Please allow time to collect your bib, you will not be permitted to run without a bib.

How do the combined races work

Accepted Answer

Some races are set up as a pair or 3 part series over a set period. Tickets are sold separately for each event. You do not have to enter all in the series but if you do, you will receive an exclusive finishers pin.

Can I invite family/friends to watch

Absolutely!

Dogs are allowed on site - but on a lead and must not run the course with you.

Question 10

Where can I leave my things?

We will provide an undercover gazebo to put your things, please note whilst our team will be around, this will not be ticketed or manned and items will be left at the owners risk.

Please try and travel as light as possible.

Question 11

Can I run for a Charity?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We will be making charitable donations after each race to a charity. However you can set up your own charity page and run for a charity using Just Giving for your chosen chaarity. Please do let us know how much you raised and for which charity.

Question 12

What is your cancellation Policy

Accepted Answer

Your entry is fully refundable up to 4 weeks before the event date. After this point, event costs will have been committed by the organiser and entries become non-refundable.
If the organiser needs to cancel the event due to insufficient registrations, a full refund will be issued, provided the cancellation occurs more than 4 weeks before the event.
Participants may request a refund at any time up to the 4-week deadline.

Are there toilets and parking

At Itchen Valley Country Park there are toilets open until 8:30pm and there are 500 parking spaces, these are first come and first serve and are chargeable.

For war memorial, there is plenty of parking at Festival Place and toilets nearby, again parking is chargeable.
